Pan Car Geist: VICFOR
Hin und wieder gibt es PRO10-Modelle die äußerst selten sind. Wenn diese Chassis dann auch noch eine interessante Geschichte oder einen berühmten Fahrer haben, ist die Story dazu umso heißer.
Der berühmte Fahrer ist in diesem Fall der 1:8 und 1:12 Doppelweltmeister Arturo Carbonell. Art war in den 70er und 80er Jahren das Aushängeschild der Marke: DELTA. Mit deren Chassis konnte er auch seine beiden Weltmeistertitel im Nitro- als auch im Elektrosegment erringen.
Arturos Deltazeit ging schließlich zu Ende und er wendete sich anderen Fabrikaten und Projekten zu. Eines dieser neuen Projekte war das 1:10 Pan-Car-Chassis von VICFOR. Der Concept One. Arturo zeichnete sich für das Design des Chassis verantwortlich.
Die Eckdaten waren ein superleichtes Fiberglass Chassis, Delta Style Front Beam Suspension und ein T-Bar, das in zwei speziellen Gummilager geführt wurde. Arturo liebte einfache, leichte und effektive Technik.
Art Carbonell war mit diesem Chassis meistens an der Ostküste der USA am Start. Dort waren zu der Zeit Oval-Rennen sehr populär, wie zum Beispiel die legendären Rennen in Whippoorwill.
Leider wurde der VICFOR Concept One kein riesiger Verkaufserfolg und das Chassis verschwand wieder von der Bildfläche. Schließlich war er nur noch ein Gerücht. Ein Pan Car Geist.

Now and then there are PRO10 models that are extremely rare. If these chassis also have an interesting story or a famous driver, the story is even hotter.
The famous driver in this case is the 1:8 and 1:12 double world champion Arturo Carbonell. Art was the figurehead of the brand in the 70s and 80s: DELTA. With its chassis he was also able to win his two world champion titles in the nitro and electric segments.
Arturo’s delta time finally came to an end and he turned to other brands and projects. One of these new projects was the 1:10 pan-car chassis from VICFOR. The Concept One. Arturo was responsible for the design of the chassis.
The key features were a super-light fiberglass chassis, Delta Style Front Beam Suspension and a T-Bar, which was guided in two special rubber bearings. Arturo loved simple, light and effective technology.
Art Carbonell was mostly on the east coast of the USA with this chassis. Oval races were very popular there at the time, such as the legendary races at Whippoorwill.
Unfortunately, the VICFOR Concept One did not become a huge sales success and the chassis disappeared from the scene. In the end it was just a rumor. A pan car ghost.
